Using Stick Figures to Share Jesus Stories
Description:
Using stick figures to tell Jesus stories is a fun and effective way to learn the Bible for people of ALL ages and educational backgrounds. In this roundtable, we will discuss why stick figures work. We will see how they can work to help people begin to follow Jesus for the very first time, help older believers who have used other Bible study methods in the past, and also help families disciple their own children. Stick figures might seem childish, but there is good educational theory behind why they work well for ALL of us. Join us and discover how they might revolutionize your own Bible study and help you share the stories of the Bible with others as well.
This roundtable will feature Dr. Pam Arlund's book Stick Figures Save the World, published April 2022, and is available for purchase here.
Featuring:
Dr. Pam Arlund serves on the All Nations International Leadership Team. She spent 10 years in Central Asia as a church planter and Bible translator working among a previously unengaged people group. Along with others, she was able to help lead people to Jesus and train them to lead their own churches. Pam trains local churches and missionaries around the globe on effective disciple making principles. She received her PhD in Linguistics in 2006. She is the author of many articles and books on missions. She travels widely, training and encouraging local churches and missionaries through on-site trainings and Perspectives classes.
Meredith Johnson and her husband, Joshua, lead the All Nations Kansas City Hub, and coach and train people to live in loving obedience to Jesus and His commands. She loves 2 Timothy 2:2 and is thrilled by the idea of exponential multiplication! She has lived in the Middle East for seven years and has been engaged with catalyzing disciple making movements among Muslims since 2005. She has a Masters of Divinity with Global Missions emphasis and a Cambridge CELTA ESL Certificate. She loves having adventures with her husband, Joshua, and being silly with her son, Luke!
Jean and Miriam Nies are friends of All Nations currently living in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Jean is a stay-at-home mom who has an MA in Theatre from the University of Kansas and a BA in Communication and Theatre Arts from Sterling College. She has used theatre in the service of missions on four different continents, and she loves storytelling through dance, music, and now (thanks to stick figures!) drawing. She currently leads an online Discovery Bible Study for Czech college students. Miriam, Jean's daughter, age four, is a proud graduate of Orchard Hill Church Preschool. She loves crafts, trampolines, and anything to do with the movie, Frozen.

WHAT IS MISSION'S EDGE?
If you or someone you know has a heart to see increased fruit in their ministries and missions endeavors, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn among ministry and missions leaders! In All Nations we have walked difficult paths, wrestled with many core issues of our faith life and we are still digging to find the heart of God in many matters. These life and ministry experiences paved the way to authoring and speaking. In 2022, our team, which is serving in many places around the world, would like to share some of these books, articles and public efforts. We know you will be blessed and we will be blessed by you!
We gather for one hour each month and discuss important topics that will help us all learn and grow -- topics that impact how we minister and where ministry and missions takes us as we express and expand the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth!
