The Floyd McClung Scholarship
November 11, 2022
All Nations International has announced the establishment of the new Floyd McClung Scholarship: Empowering African and Women Leaders to celebrate and continue the legacy of the ministry.
Two of All Nations’ key strategic priorities are: Pioneering Leadership Development and Mobilizing Global South workers. All Nations International is prioritizing the development and mobilization of a generation of African and women leaders to the neglected -- the least reached through this new scholarship fund.
"Floyd had a heart to empower and equip African leaders to reach all of Africa and beyond, and to release women in their giftings and leadership. He would be thrilled about this scholarship fund -- it represents a fulfillment of his heart's desire in empowering future generations in all God has for them,” said Sally McClung, All Nations Co-Founder and wife of Floyd. Floyd passed away in May 2021 after an extended illness.
Once funds have been raised, the scholarship will be made available to those within All Nations and will be used to cover expenses related to Discipleship Making Movements training, leadership development trainings, Church Planting Experience (CPx) trainings, and other leadership development efforts.
While he was still alive, Floyd personally discipled African leaders. He often took an African leader with him when he went speaking, said Dr. Mary Ho, All Nations International Executive Leader.
He also had a heart for helping empower women leaders. Ho recalls how he helped her as a young mother realize her leadership potential:
“As a petite Asian gal, I’ve shared how Floyd would make a beeline for me every week at our home group when I was an overwhelmed mom with a baby in my arms and a toddler clinging to my legs,” she said. “He would, with a mischievous twinkle say, ‘Mary, you have a strong leadership gifting.’ And when I would roll my eyes and dismiss him, Floyd would again approach me the next week to confirm my leadership calling.”
Leaders have a goal of raising $100,000 for the scholarship.
