Devo Week 9 - Discerning the Unseen Realm

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” Matt.10:16

Walking with Him - A Visitor with History

When things are not as they seem, it’s easy to jump to the wrong conclusions and make mistakes. Believe me, I’ve made my fair share of them! At first glance, our discernment of a situation may not be the most accurate. We need to give it time. To dig deeper into the meaning of things.

WHO IS FOR US

The Visitor on the road to Emmaus couldn’t see things the way they did, or so it seemed. In time, the opening of their eyes by revelation changed everything. Walking with the Lord is the key to our witness, and so are the witnesses we walk among.

While initially we perceived only darkness and the demonic surrounding the Village Gate Festival, in time our eyes were opened by revelation to see more light and redemptive elements. Bu Sheu had come alongside us to help with language and village life and was there when the Holy Spirit unveiled revelation concerning the Village Gate. Together, we became witnesses of the spiritual breakthroughs happening in our midst.

WHO IS AGAINST US

When I began using the revelation of the Village Gate to bring meaning to the Cross in Bu Sheu’s home village, a drunken man began shouting, “Wait a minute! That white man is stealing our culture.” In truth, I was revealing the Cross in a way they could understand, and the enemy knew it. I sensed clearly that the authority of Christ was being recognized by the principalities and powers in the spiritual realm. Being known in the spiritual realm is a key for breakthroughs among the neglected. (Acts 19:15)

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL BREAKTHROUGH

Father, keep us sensitive to your Spirit and to the unveiling of your revelation, in your timing. Empower us to speak your Word with boldness and push back the darkness. Help us discern the relationships and situations around us where you are working. Also, help us know where the enemy is causing resistance to the Gospel and seeking to bring deception. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
