Trust Isn't a One-Time Thing / Trust is a Way of Life
In recent weeks when the Lord was speaking to me about not worrying - He also spoke to me about trust. I'm so very familiar with that topic because I've had to trust the Lord so much in recent years. I couldn't have made it without trusting the Lord and holding His hand on the difficult journey.
But trust isn't a one-time thing. It's daily, maybe even hourly, as we go through life's trials. Trust is a way of life. It's telling the Lord we trust Him when things don't go right - when prayers aren't answered in the way we asked - when we have questions - when we're confused, discouraged even. Trust trumps everything!
Trust is the solid foundation in our walk with the Lord. If we don't fully, 100% trust the Lord - we're in big trouble. But with trust, the pieces of the puzzle (the pieces of our life) come together.
"Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you." Psalm 37:5
"I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation." Psalm 13:5
"He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord." Psalm 112:7
"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul." Psalm 143:8
"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes." Psalm 118:8,9
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9
"I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." Psalm 16:8
Whatever it is I'm facing, if I speak out my trust in the Lord everything seems to fall into place. He is truly my help and refuge. How good He is!
