From Government Officer to Mission-Driven Entrepreneur: Rashida’s Journey
What does it take to walk away from the most prestigious job in your country and start over from scratch? For Rashida — Pakistani Christian woman, computer science gold medalist, and founder of TechHub Pakistan — the answer is simple: faith, courage, and an unshakeable calling. Her story is full of illness, persecution, heartbreak, and breakthrough. It is one of the most compelling examples of what happens when a person stops chasing security and starts chasing purpose.
A Brilliant Mind in a System That Didn’t Want Her
Rashida was raised within Pakistan’s Christian minority—a resilient community that continues to live with faith and dignity while overcoming social challenges and rising above limiting perceptions. Despite this, Rashida graduated as a gold medalist in Computer Science which means she was top of her class with the highest score — stunning classmates who couldn't believe a woman had topped a field spanning mathematics, physics, and chemistry. She later secured the sole minority seat, one of the highest-ranking positions in the government across Pakistan.
The Illness That Broke Her Open
Baptized in September 2016, Rashida contracted a respiratory disease. One lung was completely damaged. Doctors didn’t expect her to survive. Her weight dropped below 40kg. She was angry at God. Hopeless. But in that lowest moment, she encountered Biblical verses on God’s grace — and her faith was transformed. Her father’s temperament changed completely after witnessing her healing. Today, her entire family actively participates in gospel preaching.
The Decision That Changed Everything
After securing her Grade 16 government position, Rashida resigned after just three months to marry her fiancé — shocking everyone, including her father. What followed was one of her darkest seasons: severe anxiety, depression, insomnia, and an emotional breakdown where she destroyed her medals and trophies. She believed her best days were gone. But one week before a Pioneer Business Planting training, she registered a software house — and received her first project.
Invited to facilitate a Pioneer Business Planting training in October 2024, Rashida refused to accept being one of the facilitators for having “no vision for minority.” She attended as a participant instead. In just 2–3 days, she encountered new concepts: Kingdom business, the marketplace in the Bible, personal budgeting. She went home and immediately implemented an envelope budgeting system — and began praying for a business that would honor God as its true owner. That prayer was answered faster than she expected.
Building TechHub Pakistan: Business as Mission
Within weeks, a client offered investment. Two weeks later, she launched TechHub Pakistan — a training hub that equips youth with digital skills and helps them build real online income, from freelancing to running their own digital businesses. Her vision: reach remote areas and shift mindsets from 9-5 job dependency toward entrepreneurship.
The results:
200+ students trained
Students went from zero income to full-time freelancing, supporting families and hiring others
Mohsin registered his own company, now earns in dollars, and joined Pioneer Business Planting training
Aleena, with only a matriculation education, built her own hair oil brand and earned her in-laws’ respect
Three to four organizations have approached TechHub about sponsoring branches in remote areas
The Business Philosophy Behind the Impact
Rashida’s edge: integrity as a competitive advantage.
In Pakistan, "Christians never lie" — and rather than hiding her faith, she leans into it. Even non-Christian clients seek her out for reliability. A Japanese client once transferred full payment upfront based solely on trust in her Christian identity.
She charges above market rates and directs price-sensitive clients elsewhere. Clients return for quality and long-term support.
Her guiding principle:
“Without integrity, business is just noise.”
Actionable Takeaways
Your identity is an asset. Rashida’s faith — once used against her — became the foundation of her business reputation.
Integrity compounds. Every deadline met and honest decision builds trust no marketing budget can buy.
Charge what you’re worth. Premium pricing signals quality. The right clients will stay.
Breakdown can precede breakthrough. Rashida destroyed her trophies in despair — and launched a business the same week.
You don’t need a platform to influence. Two uncles enrolled their daughters in school just by watching her life.
Let your work outlive you.“I want my work to outlive me.”
Rashida means “to show ways to others; to spread wisdom.” She once complained about the name — until her father reminded her of its meaning at the TechHub opening ceremony, as students stood up one by one to share how their lives had changed.
She never set out to be a role model. She just kept showing up — through illness, persecution, and loss — and became one. Her journey proves the most powerful businesses are built not on capital alone, but on calling, character, and the courage to keep going when everything says stop.
