Third letter of a transformed life
Here is my third story of transformed lives.
I was visiting a little house in our neighborhood one afternoon. As I entered this house that had just one room, I saw some young kids and two girls about 17 years of age sitting in the room. Perhaps they were sitting on a bed, as there was only one bed and a rectangular table on which a cooking stove was placed. Sitting on the floor I started talking to the lady of the house. I had known this lady for a few months. After a while she introduced me to these two young girls who seemed to be best friends. I started a formal conversation with these girls and came to know that their names were Prem and Joyce (not original names).
They worked in small dental clinics as helpers. Both of these girls seemed very talkative and friendly, they started sharing about their families and their work. They wanted to know about me too. I had a good chance to share my testimony with them. As I shared about myself I inserted a few sentences about the love of the living God who changed my life. As we were talking I noticed that they shifted cleverly to me and were very interested to hear my story. I felt that the Holy Spirit had already opened their hearts to hear about the love of Jesus. After I shared I asked them if I could pray for them. Their faces lit up! Prem wanted me to pray for her alcoholic father and brothers, she said there was no peace in her house, instead fights and abuse every day. As she shared she could not control her tears and I could understand that her heart is deeply hurt and she carries a lot of burden for her family. Joyce also shared about her broken family but it seems that she had a huge burden in her heart and did not know how to handle it.
During the prayer time these two young girls were touched by the Lord’s love so deeply that their tears would not stop. I felt that Jesus touched both of them very deeply. There was such joy on their faces. I invited them to my house the next day as they had lunch break every day for two hours. They came to my place the next day wanting to know more about the living God. The days passed by and these two young girls became visitors for two hours everyday. I spent time with both of them sharing the gospel. It was very easy for them to receive Jesus as their personal savior as they had experienced His love for them. I always felt that Joyce had something more in her heart that was a big burden for her. As we became closer Joyce wanted to share that burden with me. She told me that she was born out of marriage and was left in the hospital by her mother after the delivery. One couple took her from the hospital and brought her to their home. She was very bitter towards her birth mother and grew carrying this bitterness in her heart. That day Jesus gave His love and washed all her bitterness as we spent time in prayer. They became regular members of our little house church. They became good friends with Monica and Deborah too.
After receiving Jesus as their savior the parents and the family were very angry with them. They struggled with abuse, beatings and ill treatment because they had started following Jesus. Their visits to my place did not stop for many years as it was their time away from their family. I spent many days and years with these two precious girls walking with them in their journey of faith. Joyce wanted to do a short Bible training where she desired to spend time alone with God and hear His voice. It was a very difficult situation as the parents would not allow her to leave for this training. I had to visit her home several times to explain to her parents and help them understand that Joyce would benefit by this training. I took on the responsibility to send her to DTS YWAM for six months. God had his plans for Joyce’s life.
With great difficulty she was allowed to go and attend this training. We were very happy and thanked the Lord for making it possible for her. She finished her six months training and the Lord asked her to stay on staff there for another six months. During this time she grew closer to the Lord. In the second year of her DTS a student who was not from the country finished his training under her leadership. And to our surprise this man wanted Joyce to be his life partner. We all prayed and waited for the Lord to guide us. We knew that this was the man for her through spending time in prayer and spending time with this young boy. We were able to get them married. The parents were still not ready and were angry at her decision. She was again left alone at the time of the wedding. The Lord and the little fellowship of harvest people were with her. We saw God’s faithfulness all through her life. Today she is blessed with two beautiful girls and a loving husband who praises God.
Prem continued following Jesus and her family also came to the Lord and were baptized. She got married in a Christian family. Today she has two beautiful children and serves the Lord in a small house church. I give all the glory to our Lord Jesus who has beautiful plans for every one on this planet. He waits for us to reach out to the people in darkness and share the Gospel.
May the Lord bless you.
I continue to serve new women that I meet and stand with them through their journey of faith. If you want to be a part of this ministry through prayer and support I would be blessed. If you feel led by God to support me financially please contact comm@allnations.international.
About the author: I am Synuti* working in the Northern part of an Asian country as a full time minister. I work along side my husband (A) who is from South Asia. I quit my teaching job after I heard the call of the Lord to work for Him among the ladies in unreached areas. So we have many ladies and girls from a non-Christian background now following the Lord. The Lord asked me to share their stories of how He transformed their lives. So I have started writing their stories. I have four boys. It has become very difficult for us to minister openly now as we are facing a lot of persecution. But guess what…He keeps working…transforming people’s lives…His love reaches people!
