Modeling Our All Nations Values: We are a joyful global family

There is something beautiful when you get off a bus or plane and are greeted by familiar smiling faces. So when I got off the plane in South Africa there were familiar faces, not from my birth family but people in the All Nations family. They had driven for about 45 mins. to pick me up and I believe this was an experience most of us in All Nations have received when we have visited our various hubs/cities.

I will be sharing part of my experience in Cape Town with the All Nations family. I arrived on a Saturday and was picked up by Brandon and Julianna Jones, as I was their guest. They set the best bedroom as their guest room. So every guest that stays with them gets to enjoy the best views. They then proceeded to invite me into their house church, which happens on Sunday, and I was also invited to the sunrise prayer and just like that, I was home.

By the end of my first week, I was struggling with the thought of coming back home. The essence that the All Nations Cape Town family gives is that of inclusion, generosity, healthy touches, hospitality, radiant smiles, connections, freedom, sacrifice and truly a reflection of Christ in how I was treated and others treated each other.

Then more family came in for the strategic meeting. The same essence was reflected from all who came. The love I saw and experienced was immeasurable, the vulnerability and authenticity, the desire to seek God and His perfect will not only for us as individuals, but as a family. The ability to work together and be honest with ourselves.

More than an organization, we are a people, we are a family who come together by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to serve Him and to belong, and yes, we are a people loved by the God Most High.

As we look forward to the coming days, let us remember the words of our loving Savior “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Being in any family is not easy. Family members are bound from time to time to have internal and external conflicts and we as a global family are not immune to this. Thus, let us be our brother’s and sister's keeper, let us check on each other, let us pray for one another, let us bless each other, let us offer forgiveness and ask for forgiveness, let us speak the truth in love even when it is difficult, let us live in peace, let us keep on loving Jesus.
