The Good News in Eastern Africa

"We have never heard of following Jesus in this way... of knowing God in this way... we did not know it was even possible."

What does Good News mean to you? Is it hope in a future, eternal salvation only or is a present day invasion of God's Kingdom into the affairs of man? Is it hope in a political victory that aligns with your personal values or is it an inversion of power structures that sees the least of these elevated to positions of honor?

Jesus announced his ministry in Luke Chapter 4 by quoting Isaiah: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.” Luke 4:18-19 TPT

In Eastern Africa, the Spirit of the Lord is moving in ways that are helping the least, last, and lost to hear the Good News of God's Kingdom coming through Jesus. The poor are hearing a message of hope. They are elevated to positions of honor as they are trained to be leaders in a church movement, to start businesses that improve their families and villages, and to develop other leaders within their communities. They are learning a relevant and potent message to heal the broken-hearted as they share the stories of Jesus, serve one another through training and empowerment, and work together to meet practical needs. They are recieving a vision of their future that they never would have dreamed possible under the shrouds of poverty, false religion, and oppressive power structures. They are being set free from oppressive spiritual lies, demonic strongholds, and systemic issues of injustice as they are empowered spiritually and practically. This is the good news of what God is doing.

The past few weeks, well over 80 new leaders have heard this Good News and are responding with hunger - desperate to know more, to be empowered, and to learn to walk with Jesus in a way they never dreamed was possible. Join us in prayer as our team of leaders in Eastern Africa continue to labor to multiply leaders, plant churches, share Jesus, and start Kingdom Businesses among the least, last, and lost.

About the author: Jeremy* and his family completed CPX in Kansas City in 2024 and joined All Nations then, but have been participating in training programs with All Nations since 2021.

“My wife and I have been married for nearly 14 years and we have four kiddos (ages 12, ten, eight, and two). Our main ministry focus is to create spaces for individuals and communities to thrive amidst earthly tragedies, like war and poverty. We engage with UPGs, refugees, and the impoverished with the hope of introducing Kingdom principles and good news of J. We believe that healthy, engaged family-on-mission is a potent force in the world and that our kiddos are indispensable members of our team. As a family, we love to recreate in nature, eat good food, laugh, and play games.”
