God answers prayer!
Ninety-seven church planters graduated in Meserani, Tanzania, amidst a rainfall miracle!
Upon our arrival in Meserani, Tanzania, in September 2023, we discovered that the region had not experienced rainfall for a period spanning three years. When rain is absent, growing a business becomes an uphill battle. The dry land not only jeopardizes crops but also leaves animals without a source of hydration. In turn, these animals, unable to drink, fall prey to illness, leading to death. As the livestock succumbs to sickness, families lose vital assets, and communities face economic despair.
Moreover, when drought persists, people are compelled to seek water elsewhere. The quest for this essential resource often leads to displacement, as families migrate to regions with more favorable conditions. This migration, driven by the basic instinct for survival, sparks tensions and conflicts among communities competing for scarce resources.
While we prayed on the land, Isaiah 35:1, 2 (NKJV) came to mind: "The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God."
We prophesied that this desert would bloom!
We also were reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:13, 14 (NKJV) "When I shut up Heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, " if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
In the Sunday service we shared about these two Scriptures. After prayer and teaching the people started to repent and to change during the week of the Pioneer Business Planting training.
A few weeks ago we received a message that it started raining in the area. God has answered our prayers. He is faithful! See this picture below of our leader Jackson with green grass surrounding him.
God changed the community through the The Pioneer Business Planting training. Normally, in dry season, we couldn’t expect more than 10-15 people to show up. But God exceeded our expectations. At the end of the week we graduated 97 people, mostly ladies. Click here to watch the video of the graduation.
In late October 2023, our regional leader, George, did a follow up visit to provide coaching, encouragement and prayers. We were amazed about what God had done. People started to grow their businesses, being able to save profits and make use of them to invest in other businesses. From selling agricultural produce to managing small shops, these entrepreneurs showcased resilience and determination.
