Growth in Leadership

Last week I discovered this huge and impressive tree (Lebanon Cedar) in a beautiful garden (Arderne Garden). This tree is such a powerful statement of consistent growth and influence. It reminded me of leadership skills in people. If we grow in leadership (vision, strategy, soft skills, influence, results) we become like a strong and steadfast tree in a beautiful garden of many other trees. I love it when people grow in influence and leadership skills, as the ministry will grow and flourish. But this is only happening if we know in what areas we need to grow as leaders.

At the moment I have been contemplating a lot about leadership for our team and growth in people’s character. And I came across a very simple but powerful fact from John C. Maxwell: “As long as the person doesn’t know what he doesn’t know, he isn’t going to grow.”

Self awareness, humility and steady practice are the keys to growing.
