It Is Too Small a Thing for You
“It is too small.” “It is too small a thing.” The Lord rightly says of us, “It is too small a thing for you” because our feeble sight always falls short of His vision. But it is mind-blowing that the Father would say that to His Son, the Servant Messiah. In Isaiah 49:6, the Father tells the Messiah that “it is too small of a thing for you” to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back Israel. Instead, the Father insists, “I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” Every good father aspires to give the very best inheritance to his children. Our heavenly Father has lavished everything—every tribe, every language, every nation, every people, everything in heaven and on earth—to his Son. So that His salvation can be gifted to everyone to the ends of the earth!
In Christ Jesus, the Father has given us all the nations—the ends of the earth—as our inheritance. Anything less is too small a thing for us. I’m spending this month in Taiwan (with our All Nations Taiwan Hub and Living Water Church) where I am witnessing a mighty move of God among the youth hungering for Jesus. I was so stirred watching the aborigine youths igniting a spontaneous swirling dance of 1,200+ youths who couldn’t stop worshiping Jesus. More than 100 responded to the missions call to take the Gospel to the nations (watch video of the Shine Camp by clicking on the images compilation above). Dozens are fasting for 21 days, storming the heavens for revival to break out in Taiwan and for the Gospel to go from Taiwan to the nations. They are praying on the beaches. They are praying on college campuses. They are worshiping in the daytime. They are interceding in the nighttime. Our Taiwan hub is now training workers who are going to the hard places. About 36 youths are in two months of leadership training, and are about to go out on short-term outreaches around the country. I see a generation of youths who know that it too small a thing for them to just reach their schools, cities, and country. I see a generation who knows that even the whole of Asia is not enough. I see a generation who knows that the Lord has given them the ends of the earth as their inheritance.
The Lord would tell us, “You are my son; today I have become your father. Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.” (Ps.2:8) What nations and peoples will you ask the Father today to be your inheritance? Let’s ask for nothing less than the ends of the earth.
