About the Upper Dolpa of Nepal
Working in Nepal over the past 27 years, God has moved my heart to reach the unreached. Recently I went to a village that is a Tibetan refugee village. A few years back this entire village came to know Christ through Mr P (name changed). Heavy persecution followed this village, where they where shunned from all other villages around them and they were not even able to walk through the village to get to another village. A drought struck the area for the past 3 years. Everywhere, but in this village, has failed crops because of a lack of water. Only this village stands out untouched by the drought. They have and are continuing to bring in a harvest. Their testimony is making a massive impact on all the villages around them.
We have incredible people making a massive impact in Nepal. On our dream board is to reach an extremely remote area in Nepal called Upper Dolpo. Dolpa is an area of about 7900km2 with a population of about 36000. Upper Dolpa is situated between 4500m-5100m and has a population of between 5000 - 7000 people. No known believers. No church. The closest road to the start of Upper Dolpo region is a grueling 2 week trek through the Himalayas. From there it is another 10-14 days to trek through the region. There is an airstrip or ‘airport’ there, but it is very costly to fly into. Our goal is to plan a scouting trip: bring some local church planters with us, fly into Upper Dolpo, and circle a route to various villages. We want to see how God will direct us to plant a church in the area. Lots of prayer and fitness will have to go into this trip. It is unknown how many people from the Dolpo people group are believers. However, we know of none inside the Upper Dolpo region. The closest church we know about is a 10 day walk south in Dorpatan.
About the author: Gert & Molly Roets have been in the ministry since 1996 where they have served around the world as missionaries and pastors in the United States, South Africa, and Nepal. Their hearts are for the unreached peoples of the world, specifically in Central Asia, and to disciple believers to walk in purity and freedom.
In 2020 they partnered with Sexuality Unmasked, a ministry focused but on healing, deliverance, and restoration from the negative effects of sexual sin: abortion, abuse, molestation, adultery, immorality, pornography, rape, sexual confusion, and sex trafficking.
Sexuality Unmasked's powerful message exposes the lies in culture that falsely define the sexual roles of men and women and helps establish them in their true God-given identities. This movement has released healing to thousands of people worldwide through conferences, churches, and discipleship schools.
Gert has co-authored the Sexuality Unmasked Workbook, a companion to Sexuality Unmasked.
They have six children, and carry a message of life flowing from home where they home-educate, create + strategize business innovation, and lead a home church. They currently serve with All Nations and are seconded to Sexuality Unmasked based out of Spokane, WA.
