Dust Storm

This is what it looks like to be out in a dust storm and also what it looks like to get back from a dust storm and seek shelter. Goggles keep the dust out of your eyes so you can see. Face masks keep the dust out of your mouth so you can breathe.

We got invited to a party, said "yes" to that invitation, and this is evangelization.

When we hear the word evangelization, it can sound big and intimidating, but it’s actually much simpler than we think. Sharing the Gospel doesn’t necessarily mean sharing a monologue, speaking from a stage, leading a bible study or life group —it can be as easy as making friends, having fun, and being present in the lives of others.

Make Friends - At its core, evangelization is about relationship. Jesus didn’t stay in the temple and wait for people to come to Him—He went out, made friends, and met people where they were. By building genuine friendships, we earn trust and create safe spaces to share the love of Christ. Friendship naturally opens the door to talk about faith, because people are curious about what makes us different. Simply being kind, interested in others, and a good listener can be the start of evangelization.

Have Fun -Evangelization doesn’t have to be boring or heavy—it can be full of joy! Jesus Himself loved to celebrate. He attended weddings, shared meals, and laughed with His disciples. When we enjoy life and celebrate the small moments with others, we show that following Jesus is a life of joy and freedom. Whether it’s going to a party, grabbing coffee, or having a deep conversation, those fun, authentic moments are where the seeds of the Gospel are planted.

Say Yes to Invitations - Jesus was never afraid to accept invitations. He ate in the homes of Pharisees (Luke 7:36), visited Zacchaeus (Luke 19:5), and spent time with people wherever they were. Evangelization often means stepping into the worlds of those we’re trying to reach—being present in their lives and saying “yes” to invitations. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:22, “I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.” We, too, can meet people where they are by showing up and living the Gospel through our actions.

Evangelization doesn't have to be a daunting task—it’s about making friends, spreading joy, and being present. When we approach life this way, we live out the Gospel in every interaction and share the love of Christ with ease.
