Searching for the Healer

I was in the lounge with a young woman who was seeking healing. She was preparing to sit with Ayahuasca for the twelfth time. Ayahuasca is a powerful psychoactive brew that has been used for centuries by indigenous tribes in South America for spiritual and medicinal purposes. The word "ayahuasca" is derived from the Quechua language, with "aya" meaning spirit or soul and "huasca" meaning vine or rope, reflecting the combination of plants used to make the brew.

The primary ingredients of ayahuasca are the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and the leaves of the Psychotria viridis shrub. The vine contains harmala alkaloids, which act as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), allowing the psychoactive compound DMT (dimethyltryptamine) in the shrub to be active.

When brewed together in a specific manner, the combination of these plants produces a thick, brownish liquid with a strong, earthy taste. Ayahuasca ceremonies, led by experienced shamans or healers, involve the consumption of this brew in a ritualistic setting, often accompanied by chanting.

The effects of ayahuasca can vary widely from person to person, but commonly reported effects include profound alterations in consciousness, intense visual and auditory hallucinations, emotional catharsis, and a heightened sense of spiritual awareness.

We were talking about the universal experience of pain, the sorta of pain that stings your heart. She was sharing details about the pain that she was seeking healing from. I was praying, “Come, Holy Spirit.”

I received an image and I used it to describe our Creator, Healer, Spirit God and my relationship with Him.

“I saw a flash of whirling color. I see our Creator, a cosmic, whirling, circular, force, with bright threads of color; magenta, blue, teal, gold. The threads are infinitely circling. The powerful force is fully good, true, and beautiful. It is the essence of love. A thread energetically shoots towards me and I, willfully, allow it to enter. I too become full of  goodness, truth, and beauty. I am connected to my Creator who loves me and heals me.”

The seeker in front of me was wide eyed and interested. I was about to ask, “How do you connect to the Creator?” when we were interrupted.

I was hoping to lead breathwork / prayer and create space for an Encounter with Jesus. I am developing a relationship with her. In time, my hope is to introduce her to the Healer.

This ministry is important. Jesus and only Jesus heals fully and completely, only Jesus restores our relationship with God. You don’t need twelve ceremonies at thousands of dollars each to be healed. We just need Jesus.
